This current engagement, part of Golf Channel’s current social media marketing campaign, is a contest to locate <a href="http://on.fb.me/GCP2Yi">Feherty’s beloved pet rooster, Frank.</a>  The contest is a custom Facebook application created by social media marketing agency, <a href="http://bit.ly/FQ6J8U">Thuzi</a>.</P><P>

To enter the contest, head over to the <a href="http://on.fb.me/GCP2Yi">“Where’s Frank?”</a> application and take a guess at which city Frank is sightseeing in and then provide your contact information so you can be contacted if you are a winner.  Then check out the <a href="http://bit.ly/Iq780H">Feherty ringtone</a> available for download and share the news of the contest with fellow golf enthusiasts.</P><P>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<P><img class="alignleft  wp-image-1385" title="facebook_instagram" src="http://www.thuzi.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/facebook_instagram2-300x135.jpg" alt="" width="218" height="99" />Today, <a href="http://on.fb.me/HnE9I7">Mark Zuckerberg</a>, Facebook’s Founder and CEO, announced to subscribers of his Facebook Page that the world’s largest social media network will acquire Instagram, the leading mobile app for sharing photos.  This is potentially the largest acquisition deal ever struck, involving a company with a single mobile application.</P><P>

According to <a href="http://on.fb.me/HnE9I7" target="_blank">Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Page</a> and today’s <a href="http://bit.ly/HsBkt5" target="_blank">Instagram Blog</a> article written by <a href="http://bit.ly/HnLyXY" target="_blank">Instagram Founder and CEO Kevin Systrom</a>, users of the app will still be able to share photos with their friends on all social media platforms that are already supported.  Additionally, users will not be required to share their photos with Facebook unless they enable it themselves.</P><P>

Since Instagram has already achieved around 30 million users in less than two years (with over a million of those users in just this last week due to the launch of Instagram for Android) with only 17 employees, the possibilities on how much this app could grow with the Facebook team behind it are huge.  This purchase is definitely exciting news for the social media world, including everyone at our offices, since these are two brands we enjoy interacting with on a daily basis.</p>

Along with Facebook Pages officially changing to Timeline today, they will also receive several new features for <a href="http://bit.ly/xXtcg5">improving communications with their Facebook Fans</a>.  Part of the Timeline update is the introduction of new options for how to present Page Posts.</P><P>

Facebook Page admins now have the capability to highlight specific posts in two ways: featuring and pinning.  In maximizing the impact of Page Posts in Timeline, it is important to learn the differences in the presentation of Pinned Posts and Featured Posts, along with the best usage of each.</P><P>
<BR>
<strong>Pinned Posts </strong></P><P>

<img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1348" title="pencil" src="http://www.thuzi.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/pencil.gif" alt="" width="20" height="20" />Clicking the pencil icon on a post will pin a story to the top of the page.  This pin will remain for seven days, after which time you can choose to pin it again or pin a different post.</P><P>

Pinned Posts are most helpful for highlighting content that is valuable but won’t change frequently.  If you have a video tour of a product or a hot sale that is in progress, this is a great example of how to call attention to it for new visitors.</P><P>

<strong>Featured Posts</strong></P><P>

To create a Featured Post, click the star icon.  This will expand the size of a story to the width of the entire Timeline in order to draw more attention to that specific content.  Featured Posts do not remain at the top of the Facebook Page like Pinned Posts do.  Instead, they remain in proper chronological order and get pushed down the Timeline with every new Post created.</P><P>

Starred Posts are a great way to highlight past events and items that are important but don’t necessarily need to be the first thing a visitor sees when hitting your Facebook Page.  Milestones added to Timeline are automatically given this treatment.

<strong>Deciding Between Pinning and Starring</strong></P><P>

While the line may be blurred on which is most appropriate for each Post, it is valuable to decide how each type of highlighting will be used on your Facebook Page and then remain consistent.  Fans of your Facebook page will grow accustomed to the type of content pinned to the top of your Page’s Timeline.  But, don’t forget, this is an ongoing learning process for all Facebook Page admins so plenty of trial and error may be needed before the perfect balance is struck for meeting the unique needs of your Fans and your Page.</p>]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<P>In today’s Apple event held at the Yerba Buena Center, Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, gave the world its first look at the <a href="http://bit.ly/zelh9h">new iPad</a> &#8211; complete with the much loved and anticipated Retina Display.  The iPad’s display boasts an astounding 2048 x 1536 pixel display.  The 3rd iPad also comes with an A5X chip which allows for a fourfold increase in performance and 4G LTE for super fast downloads on AT&amp;T and Verizon networks.</p><P>

But Apple didn’t stop there!  The new iPad also comes with a 5 megapixel iSight camera and full 1080p HD video recording capability.  Owners of the <a href="http://bit.ly/zzVxo7">iPhone 4S</a> will notice the microphone button is now on the iPad keyboard which allows for voice dictation.</p><P>

The new iPad starts at the $499 price point and will be available March 16, 2012 with preordering available starting today.  Application updates were also announced for iWorks, Garage Band and iMovie as well as the release of iPhoto for iPad.</p><P>

In addition, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO announced that a new Apple TV will be available next week and preorders start today.</p><P>
